Personnel Management

I have written far too much about the importance of having great people in order to achieve great success.  My new book dwells on the need for senior managers to continuously upgrade the quality of the middle leadership and workforce.  Those who read my prose will surely think I am mean-spirited and looking to terminate anyone who has a bad day.  But, that is actually the oposite of what I am saying.  Organizations need risk-takers (hopefully, measured risk).  They need people with ideas and the force of will to see change through to completion.  Again, I quote the late author and management guru, Peter Drucker, who wrote:

"It is the job of the executive to remove anyone - and especially managers - who consistently fails to perform with high distinction."  From "The Effective Executive."
