Immigration - Healthcare - Incumbency, the Great Connection
Dr. David Jeremiah is the author of more than 50 books and presently serves as a pastor in San Diego. His works are well-researched and documented. In this post, I generously use some of his research and prose to further my point on incumbency and what has become better known as the "swamp."
- The flood of immigration in America is a contributor to unemployment. Business gravitates to those who will accept low wages, so naturally immigrants are hired over U.S. citizens who will not accept those low wages. In 2016, the Labor Department attributed 50% of real wage decline to the influx of cheap labor.
- The fastest growing group of immigrants to the U.S. in the last 3 years came from the Middle East - more came from the Middle East than Mexico and Latin America combined. Islamic groups are at work creating enclaves or states-within-states with little intention to assimilate. These enclaves are breeding grounds for radicalism as we have observed in Europe. The Council on American-Islamic Relations estimates that 7 million Muslims are presently living in the U.S. (Would you venture a guess how they vote?)
A U.S. government combined departments study concluded that over 55,300 illegal immigrants are in prison in the U.S. and in the aggregate have been arrested 460,000 times or roughly 8 times each. The costs of this massive incarceration was included.
The primary care facility for illegal immigrants is hospital emergency rooms that cannot by law turn away anyone in need. To demonstrate the magnitude of the problem, Dallas Parkland Hospital delivered 16,000 babies in a recent year of which 70% were illegal immigrant births at a cost of $70.7million - and we wonder why we desperately need immigration and healthcare reform?
- In 2010, the cost of educating children of illegal immigrants was estimated at $52 billion while the cost of services was $113 billion. Guess what has happened to the quality of public education since many of these children speak no English requiring millions of dollars in accommodations.
- Many states have had their Voter I.D. laws struck down by (left-leaning) federal courts. With no proof of citizenship or even a residence, it only takes a non-citizen a "sworn affidavit of eligibility" to vote. (Does anyone doubt how these illegals will vote and why the left resists immigration reform - sounds, smells, and tastes like incumbency to me as well as the potential economic collapse of the country.)
- Illegal immigration creates a dangerous imbalance when one party in a two-party system democracy offers enormous free benefits, voter freedom, and limited non-citizen restrictions that turn the election tide over the will of the legal citizens.
Furthermore, the cost of the immigration - healthcare - welfare state is directly correlated with the demise our country's infrastructure and the readiness and size of our Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
The immigration - healthcare - incumbency connection is strategically significant in my judgment. Healthcare is symbolic of all of the "free stuff" illegals have been given in order to capture the entire voting block of the immigrants. It is not dissimilar to the welfare state that has been created by the left to assure their seats of power and the enormous appurtenances that they derive from year to year and election to election.
It is clear that the priorities in Washington are incumbency (reelection), party, and the longevity of the nation, a distant third. How else could our national debt have doubled in 8 years coupled with an unwillingness to come together on affordable healthcare, immigration, rule of law, and more?
The biggest surprise of all is that notwithstanding the above, seemingly unlimited financial resources, and much greater party unification , the left lost the election. They could not have selected a worse candidate and many knew it but cowed down, because they thought she would win hands down and Washington would be secure once more. Today, the left remains in disbelief and denial and will do anything, legal/ethical or not, to deny the president's right to govern even at the risk of anarchy within.
