Self-Deprecation
3/3/2016
Our country has perpetrated its evils, not the least of which was slavery, but over the decades she has engaged in a continuous march toward a more perfect union. However, we are presently in the midst of a hiccup where materialism, a political divide, the demise of our family structure, failing schools, political correctness, and a misbelief that individual rights supercede the first principles that our country was founded upon.
How as a nation did we get to the point where we not only tolerate the present state of political mendacity but applaud and celebrate it?
We are in desperate need of leadership - not orators, not politicians, but statesmen - men and women of honor, integrity, and purpose who place country before party and selfish ambition.
If we don't demand honesty and truth from our elected officials; we are not part of the problem; we are the problem.
These are dangerous times.
