Truth is that which Benefits the Party

In his terrific book, “Engage with Honor”, former Vietnam POW Lee Ellis quotes one of the interrogators in the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ that “truth is that which benefits the party.” I always thought that line of thinking only existed in Communist countries - now I realize it is alive and well here in America. I believe the only check on such a direction is Congressional term limits.
