"Too Young to Die"
The following was sent to me some time ago by my friend and former Executive Officer at Riverside Military Academy. At Woodward Academy (once a military academy) in Atlanta, a plaque with the following inscription is displayed at the school's Vietnam War Memorial. I meant to include it in "Executive Courage..." but misplaced it so it never happened. It might have several meanings. I see how it related to those in the Vietnam War, but it also provides good counsel for those who procrastinate as the days, months, and years pass them by.
"What shall I think when I am called to die? Shall I not find too soon my life has ended?... There are so many things I'd meant to try. So many contests I had hoped to win. And lo, the end approaches just as I was thinking of preparing to begin."
