Theory vs Diligence
“Genius is a fragile substitute for character. Likewise, American education has squandered its soul and its power in a philosophical vanity fair. We are now reaping the bitter harvest of a generation of fanciful useless theory. Our schools and universities continue to spew out graduates who can explain the peyote cult (American Indian religion that takes on elements of Christianity) that uses a cactus derivative of peyote but cannot hold down jobs. The university campus, we are told by undisciplined dilettantes (lovers of the arts superficially), is to be the marketplace of ideas. What abut the idea that diligence is not the last resort of the boring and unimaginative? Theory is no substitute for practice, and creativity without character will quickly corrupt.” “Relaunch” by Pastor Mark Rutland
