Quarterbacks Never Cry

“Quarterbacks never cry” from Pat Conroy’s “Prince of Tides” gave me pause when I read the book. Of course the statement is not universal, but undoubtedly it can be a learned trait not to show emotions in the presence of others. But there is a difference between shedding a tear in grief and outright crying.

Today I learned that my college football coach, George Keim, passed away this past weekend. Moreover, my Bible Study teacher (who was a relatively new friend) passed away at 0520 this morning.
