Providential living

I have written on my providential beliefs before, but as a faithful follower, why not add another dimension.  Yes, I believe that there is a divine providence that governs our lives.  Rather than saying that we are predestined to do this or that, I prefer to believe that we are predisposed and that God has a purpose in our lives, and it is a good purpose.  Even the undesirable and sometimes tragic occurrences in our lives seem divine - governed and possibly intended to not just impact our lives but those of others around us.  It is impossible for us to comprehend God's purpose and timeline.  I believe that prayer and the reading of God's Word can enlighten us on his intent for us and possibly even alter the end state in God's plan.

In his book, "Life Promises for Leaders", Zig Ziglar opined that suffering is part of God's curriculum.  "Every obstacle, every annoyance, and every genuine heartache in our lives are part of God's curriculum to produce a persistent, tenacious, rich, and deep trust in God.

Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline.  Revelation 3:19

Not to be marketing, but I give some real life examples in my new book, "Executive Courage - Sometimes You Have to Walk Point."
