Political Posts

Many are sick and tired of the political bantering on the cable networks, news papers, and social media, so I hesitate to make political posts anywhere except on my blog where readers and friends have more of a choice whether to see them.

I have written numerous posts that I actually never posted after I weighed the pros and cons. There is a fine line between being perceived as a thoughtful writer and a whimsical heretic. Once I took some criticism from a former classmate that is either a clergy person or a college professor, who posted that “he keeps his political opinions to himself.” I wanted to respond that “he is doing precisely what the German’s did in the 1930s, and look where it got them.”

Recent post have generated minimal response, and I often take that as disagreement, which can be good and bad. Sometimes, I wonder if the absence of comments is a sign of respect or disgust?

In either case, I will trust my instincts and post political concerns when I feel the urge.
