A Test for Real Political Leadership

The choice between what is right and what is safe for future elections is the test for real political leadership. Those who choose the latter are mere showmen - not leaders. I get emetic listening to the posturing, poll-watching, and duplicity of some members of congress (I can’t make myself capitalize the word). Maybe worse is the fickled electorate that can’t even see their self-centered motives.

I respect and admire the writings of the great Roman historian, Cicero, who wrote, “There is nothing, absolutely nothing fairer, more beautiful, more to be loved, than high courage.”
