Miscellaneous Thoughts on Election Day
3/1/2016
It seems to me that political skills today are synonymous with cunning and guile and that is not a positive. Proverbs 12:2 tells us that, "A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord condemns the 'crafty' man."
One of my greatest frustrations is about things that don't seem to bother other people - much of that frustration revolves around the insidious nature of politics and politicians. Public office is no longer about service. It is about incredible appurtenances (perks), not the least of which are celebrity, incredible wealth, and health and welfare benefits unmatched anywhere in the free world.
As I depart today to vote in the Georgia presidential primary, I have no idea for whom to vote. My list of credentials are simple - competency, character, and believability. One can readily see why I don't know for whom to vote.
