"Too Young to Die"

“What shall I think when I am called to die? Shall I not find too soon my life has ended? There are so many things I meant to try. So many contests I had hoped to win. And lo, the end approaches just as I was thinking of preparing to begin.” Anonymous

Discovered at the Memorial Plaza at the Vietnam Memorial at Woodward Academy, a former military school in Atlanta, GA

Commentary: Of course, this reminds me of the thousands of young soldiers, airmen, sailors, and Marines who fell in battle and never had the opportunity to hope, win, and begin. But it also strikes a cord of sorrow for the perpetual procrastinators who will one day feel great sorrow that they never sought to begin.
