Place-holders

In struggling departments or companies that must produce greater revenue, we don’t need place-holders as leaders. We need leaders who will rattle the china - leaders who change the standards, raise the bar of expectations, and alter what the workforce thinks is good enough in terms of effort and achievement. This leader will know if he/she is making progress, because the naysayers, foot-draggers, and lovers of stasis will be grousing, and the hard chargers will be wanting to set up camp in his/her office. Moreover, if the company is landfill bound, the leader will do the unthinkable to turn the momentum, and the naysayers will abandon ship unless thrown overboard.
