Party First and Foremost Politicians

"Party first and foremost" conservatives and liberals have but one priority and intent, and it is not the betterment of America - it is reelection and maintenance of the appurtences that make public office in the federal government so lucrative. We must not be blind to the fact that public office in Washington D.C. is no longer about "service" - it is about these incredible appurtences, not the least of which include celebrity, wealth, enviable vacations, and unmatched healthcare and retirement benefits.  Every time I see a House or Senate vote right down party lines, I shudder, because I know that votes were bought/traded and the best interests of our country were second to the interests and pressures of the party, which are necessary for reelection (incumbency).

I consider incumbency one of the greatest threats to America.  It galls me to observe the hypocracy in both parties characterized by the camera-seeking, public profiling of Pelosi and Schumer on the left and McCain and Graham on the right.  Pelosi and Schumer are so outrageously politically movitivated (swamp personified) that I won't waist ink on them.  However, I am terribly disappointed in McCain (whom I once voted for) and Lindsey for public "fence riding" and seeking opportunities to criticize their president for virtually every decision and speech all in the name of vote-seeking (ostensibly from independents) and jealousy over their own failures to win the Oval Office.

I have much more to say on this topic but will cool off and come back tomorrow.
