Organization Change and its Sidekicks...
In three presidencies (one interim), there was always a level of tension. The reason was obvious; I always wanted more and change in processes and improved staffing were the avenues to growth. The status quo bubbas (I have referred to them as naysayers, foot draggers, conformists, disrupters, pathogens, and probably more) will challenge every new idea and procedural change that demands more of them or alters their comfort level. Most will not come forth, but hide their deceit with others of the same ilk. Change and the raising of standards and expectations are characteristics of successful organizations notwithstanding the stress and tension they levy on the leader.
