On Military Schools
Military college preparatory schools and colleges do so much more than educate the cognitive. They develop the character and the countenance of their cadets. They forge young men of substance while changing what they think is good enough in terms of effort and achievement, what they think is appropriate in polite society, how the carry and project themselves, and teach them what constitutes a good leader, and more.
When the question is raised “aren’t military schools similar to reform schools”, the retort should be, “you betcha the structure and discipline at military schools allows them to take the clay of adolescence and create the rock of adulthood.” Benson
