King Solomon
The pastor yesterday preached on the first chapter of the book of James (NT) and referred to the book as the third wisdom book of the Bible (of course, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes of the OT are the other two). His sermon was excellent, and I had to chuckle when he referred to King Solomon, purported author of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, as the wisest man on earth.
The noble King purportedly had 300 wives and 700 concubines - I question that wisdom. All I can say is he must have been one hell of a good listener, and where did he find the time to write the 31 Chapters of Proverbs and the 12 Chapters of Ecclesiastes?
Humor aside, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and James are truly books of wisdom on how one should live and lead. I quote from Proverbs and Ecclesiastes generously in "Executive Courage....".
