Benson Aphorisms #2

"There is a difference between leadership and showmanship.  Showmanship seeks popularity and affirmation; leadership moves the needle to the right and is more interested in respect than popularity."  Guess which one is generally more successful?

"It doesn't matter whether you work for ABC widgets or XYZ gizmos, character and integrity are the top prerequisites for success and happiness."

"The secret of being dependable is doing what you say you will do - every time."

"I like people and enjoy company, but the success I enjoy, whatever it may be, emanates from daily solitude."

"The field of athletics is where many young people 'find themselves".

"I am very direct with employees and superiors - what you see is what you get and what I said is what I meant".  (This characteristic hasn't always served me well.)

"Cunning and guile (deceit) are as distant from wisdom as gossip from truth (except in combat)".
